Create your first project

This is a web task — do it from the Orvikon web portal.

A project is the build everything else hangs off: it holds your plans and all the jobs you’ll offer to your trades. You only set it up once, then work out of it.

Create the project

  1. In the left menu, open Projects.

  2. Click New Project (top right).

  3. Click Blank project… at the bottom of the menu.

(If your company has saved project templates, they’ll be listed above this — pick one to spin up a whole set of jobs at once. Starting blank is the simplest first step.)

  4. In the Create a New Project window, fill in:

    • Project Name — what you’ll call this build.
    • Address (optional label) — a street address to show on the project, if you want one.
    • The map — drop a pin on the site. This one isn’t optional: jobs on a project can’t be offered until it has a location, so the Create button stays greyed out until you’ve placed a pin and entered a name.
  5. Click Create.

You’ll land on the project’s own page.

Set or fix the location later

If you ever need to move the pin, open the project and click Edit location next to the address, drag the pin, and click Save. If a project has no location yet, you’ll see a warning that its jobs can’t be offered until you set one — this is where you fix that.

Add your plans

Your plans live on the project so every trade you offer a job to can see them.

  1. On the project page, open the Plans tab.
  2. Click Upload plans.
  3. Choose one or more files (images or PDFs). They upload straight away and appear in the list.

For each plan in the list you can:

That’s the project set up. Next: Offer a job to your trades.
